We are looking fora  Job & Life Skills Coach for a young female who lives in Strafford County and receives support through the Agency’s Self-Directed Services program.

In the Self-Directed Services program, families in Strafford County manage their own services (including staffing) for an adult family member who has a developmental disability or a traumatic brain injury. The employee will work out of the family home and the family is the Managing Supervisor with Community Partners as the Employer of Record.

The family is seeking a motivated, dependable, and responsible individual to assist this young woman with participating in community activities and encouraging her to self-advocate and converse with peers. Responsibilities include driving to and participating in exercise classes, social skills activities, life skills workshops and volunteer work at a day care center. The family is looking for 18 hours of support per week; hours are early afternoon and evenings. Days to be discussed upon interview.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in education, and should be comfortable identifying and meeting support needs and problem solving. Additionally, the candidate should be someone who is willing and eager to be an advocate for this young woman, and is able to be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently. An upbeat attitude, a good sense of humor, and good communication skills are required.

As travel is a requirement of this position, candidate must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of adequate vehicle liability coverage, and reliable transportation.
