Community Offices
DOVER VOCATIONAL OFFICE (DVO)
The
Dover Vocational Office focuses on providing vocational opportunities for
people. While teaching the important life skills that increase independence and
self sufficiency including emphasis on healthy lifestyles, appropriate
interpersonal interactions with others, and increasing communication, it is done
so in the context of obtaining and maintaining community-based employment. DVO
offers a supportive environment, considering each person’s vocational interests,
matching those interests to a wide-variety of job sites, and providing the
necessary job coaching to ensure people’s success on the job!
CROSBY COMMUNITY OFFICE (CCO)
The Crosby Community Office has two specialized programs:
The Crosby Vocational Program has the specific goal to get people working and stay working! With a focus on job development and job coaching, this program offers support to the clients who have an interest in or are already employed in the community. This program is connected to the Advanced Employment Services (AES) program at Community Partners, which provides the expertise of the staff at AES and connections to meet employment outcomes for people supported in the Crosby Vocational program
The Crosby Community Program supports
the clients who are interested in community opportunities such as recreational
activities and volunteer sites, while providing positive behavioral supports for
clients to be in the community. People may also have a paid job in the
community, but for these clients, employment is not the major event in their
programs. The focus of this program is to provide purposeful and meaningful
activities that will increase people’s independence, communication, and social
skills. Participants will have a wide array of activities to chose from
throughout their day and will have the flexibility that people sometimes need to
have a successful day.
